Where is Cambodia? Cambodia is a country located in Southeast Asia, bordered by Thailand to the northwest, Laos to the northeast, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest. The capital city is Phnom Penh. Cambodia has a total land area of approximately 181,035 square kilometers and a population of around 16.8 million people. The country's terrain is characterized by low-lying central plains, the Mekong River Delta in the south, and the Cardamom Mountains in the southwest. Cambodia's coastline along the Gulf of Thailand is relatively short, at around 443 kilometers. The Mekong River is the largest river in Cambodia and flows through much of the country's eastern and southern regions.
